19/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 18 April, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) published a report analysing the methodology for calculating Latvia’s proposed gas transmission tariffs. ACER considers that the public consultation of the Latvian national regulator, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), does not contain certain information that should be included according to the Network Code on Gas Transmission Tariffs. It, therefore, recommends that an assessment be made of the cross-subsidies resulting from the merger of the ‘FinEstLat’ markets, but also to calculate the exit tariff to Lithuania using the proposed reference price method and, finally, to apply capacity-based tariffs at national exit points.
