12/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – The vote in the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) on the directive on occupational exposure to asbestos will take place at the 26-27 April meeting, two sources said on 12 April (see EUROPE 13153/8), and not next week during the plenary session, as was originally thought. A confirmation vote on the report by Véronique Trillet-Lenoir (Renew Europe, French) is then expected to take place on 8 May in the plenary session, in order to immediately launch negotiations with the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council. The original date for the vote was set for 13 April, but the timetable had to be changed due to scheduling problems within some groups, other sources said. (SP)
