12/04/23 (Agence Europe) – The members of the conservative ECR Group in the European Parliament validated on Tuesday 11 April the arrival of two representatives from the Finns Party (Perussuomalaiset), Teuvo Hakkarainen and Pirkko Ruohonen-Lerner. The latter will replace Laura Huhtasaari, who left for the Finnish Parliament after her party came second (20.05%) in the recent parliamentary elections won by the Christian Democratic Party (20.82%). The Finns Party was already a member of the ECR Group in the 2014-2019 parliamentary term. The Conservative group in Parliament will be composed of 66 MEPs as soon as the integration of the two new members is formalised, at the next plenary session. (MB)
