05/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 5 April, EU High Representative Josep Borrell called for China to be a constructive global player, especially in relation to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “We expect China to behave as a positive, constructive global player, in particular, in front of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, which is a violation of the United Nations Charter”, he said on his arrival at NATO. Borrell, who will visit China next week, said the EU was determined to continue constructive engagement with Beijing to tackle global challenges. “We need China to solve the global challenges, and we want to develop a constructive engagement with China”, he explained. The EU High Representative also announced that the Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum will take place in May. This will be held on May 13 in Stockholm according to the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council. (CG)
