Border procedures, work in EU Council is focusing on defining ‘adequate capacity’ of Member States

Member States will discuss, on Wednesday 5 April, a new compromise document from the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council on the regulation of the ‘Pact on Migration and Asylum’ regarding asylum procedures (APR).

The latest version, dated 31 March, clarifies some notions, such as the ‘adequate capacity’ of a Member State to carry out border procedures (or frontier procedures) at a specific location, speeding up traditional asylum examinations and allowing the rejection of an asylum...
