The European Commission and the Japanese Personal Information Protection Commission reaffirmed on Tuesday 4 April the EU-Japan Mutual Adequacy Arrangement on data exchange and data protection, following its review. The arrangement recognising the adequacy of data had entered into force in 2019. This was its first review since its implementation.
