Schengen enlargement, Olaf Scholz calls for Romania’s integration “this year”

04/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, reiterated, on Monday 3 April in Bucharest, together with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, that he hoped to see Romania join the Schengen free movement zone “this year”, considering that the country has met all the necessary conditions. “Germany stands firmly by Romania’s side”, Mr Scholz said, according to Reuters, adding that this included “the goal of Romania becoming a full member of the Schengen area this...
