30/03/23 (Agence Europe) – The expert group on well-being at school, set up by the European Commission, met for the first time on Thursday 30 March. It will be responsible for developing policy recommendations and guidelines to address the wellbeing challenges facing young people and teachers. The group will address issues such as the prevention of violence and (cyber)bullying in schools and the creation of inclusive and supportive learning environments. While mental health is one of the Commission’s priorities for 2023 (see EUROPE 13146/40), Member States have also committed to paying particular attention to well-being in schools in 2022 recommendations on the ‘Pathways to School Success’ initiative.
