2023 European Social Innovation Competition will focus on fight against energy poverty

30/03/23 (Agence Europe)The European Commission launched the 2023 European Social Innovation Competition (EUSIC) on Thursday 30 March. The competition was launched in 2013 as a tribute to the innovator Diogo Vasconcelos. EUSIC rewards social innovation projects that address societal challenges and support European objectives such as the green transition. The 2023 EUSIC challenge focuses on tackling energy poverty, in line with the REPowerEU plan to move the EU away from dependency on Russian fuels by 2027 (see EUROPE 12955/4). EUSIC is open until 30 May to social innovators from Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe. Applications will be assessed based on impact, sustainability, degree of innovation and potential for scalability and replicability. The three winning EUSIC social innovation projects will receive €50,000 each. Link to the competition: https://aeur.eu/f/64q (EV)
