29/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 29 March, Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged that international sanctions against his country could have “negative” consequences in the “medium term” on the Russian economy. “Sanctions imposed on the Russian economy in the medium term can really have a negative impact on it”, he said in a televised meeting. According to Mr Putin, unemployment is at its lowest level, 3.6%, and by the end of March inflation will fall below 4% (after reaching 20% a year ago). “The return to a growth trajectory must not make us slacken off”, he warned, calling for “economic sovereignty to be guaranteed”. He called for the rapid launch of new projects in manufacturing industries, particularly in the production of advanced technology products. (CG)
