22/03/23 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 22 March, the European Commission announced the launch of a new European prize: the InnovAid prize for humanitarian innovation. It will reward organisations and companies that develop technological innovations to improve the quality and effectiveness of humanitarian assistance provided to people affected by crises or natural disasters. InnovAid is supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC) under the framework of Horizon Europe. The winner will receive €250,000, the first runner-up €150,000 and the second runner-up will get €100,000. The competition is open until 3 October to companies, humanitarian non-governmental organisations and legal entities established in an EU Member State or in a country associated with Horizon Europe.
