20/03/23 (Agence Europe) – The Centre on Regulation in Europe (CERRE) think tank, published, on Thursday 16 March, a guide on access to data and algorithms to optimise the implementation of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) (see EUROPE 13054/14) and the Digital Services Act (DSA) (see EUROPE 13133/30). This guide provides an overview of the 54 algorithmic transparency and data sharing obligations contained in the DMA-DSA package. It is also developing a test to help stakeholders consider specific requests for data sharing and implement access arrangements. The focus is on several points, which include: - keeping legislative purpose as the guiding principle; - ensuring that the data requested is consistent with the stated purpose of the disclosure; - limiting the data requested to that which is really necessary; - guaranteeing that the implementation of EU rules is as non-intrusive as possible.
