20/03/23 (Agence Europe) – At the Agriculture Council meeting on Monday 20 March, EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski presented the European Commission’s response to the recommendations of the European Pigmeat Reflection Group. The main lines of action already known are the use of the possibilities for producer organisations, the organic action plan, the revision of the promotion policy and the geographical indications and EU approach to proteins. “Moving towards more sustainable, environmentally and animal-friendly systems of pig production should be a priority for the sector.”, the Commission argues.
