15/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament adopted by 451 votes in favour, 133 against and 48 abstentions on Wednesday 15 March the report by Urmas Paet (Renew Europe, Estonian) taking stock of the functioning of the European External Action Service and arguing for a stronger EU in the world. Parliament calls for effective measures to improve the coordination and integration of the Union’s foreign policy and the external dimension of the Union’s internal policies. It wants to establish the High Representative’s leading role as “bridge-builder” between the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Union’s external relations “with the aim of ensuring the highest level of coordination and coherence in EU external action”.
