21/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – Following a request made by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in November 2022, the EU Council on Monday 20 February adopted an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility amounting to €7 million for the benefit of the Jordanian armed forces. This measure is intended to strengthen the capacity of the military medical services to evacuate and treat injured soldiers in the field via a fully equipped mobile hospital supplemented by ambulances. It should also provide funding for field engineer brigades equipped to better support deployed units, particularly along the borders, and for tactical equipment (unmanned systems), as well as support to the armed forces to develop an unmanned combat capability.
