12/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – With the exception of Identity and Democracy (ID), the various political groups in the European Parliament have appointed their member to represent them in the negotiations on the proposed regulation to establish a voluntary framework for the certification of carbon removals in the European Union. As previously reported (see EUROPE 13092/3), MEP Lídia Pereira (EPP, Portuguese) has been appointed Parliament’s rapporteur for this dossier. She will work with the following shadow rapporteurs: Tiemo Wölken (S&D, German), Emma Wiesner (Renew Europe, Swedish), Ville Niinistö (Greens/EFA, Finnish), Anna Zalewska (ECR, Polish), Mick Wallace (The Left, Irish) and the shadow rapporteur of the ID Group, once appointed.
