14/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is preparing its 2023 annual report on the state of the Rule of law in the EU27 and opened a public consultation on Monday 14 November to gather information on trends in the Member States, it said in a statement. The consultation is aimed at, among others, judicial associations, civil society, NGOs, international organisations and EU agencies. As part of the consultation, the Commission will also gather information on how, and to what extent, Member States have implemented the recommendations made for the first time in the 2022 Report. The consultation is open until 20 January 2023. The Commission’s annual report covers corruption, judicial independence, institutional balance and media freedom.
