09/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 9 November, the spokesperson of the European External Action Service condemned “in the strongest terms” the Syrian regime’s bombing, backed by Russian air strikes, of tent settlements for displaced civilians near the city of Idlib on 6 November. At least nine people, including four children, were killed and more than 75 people were injured. Moreover, 400 families living in the damaged camps face displacement. “All parties to the Syrian conflict have the obligation under international law to protect the safety and security of civilians and civilian infrastructure”, the spokesperson warned, urging the regime and its allies to stop indiscriminate military attacks and respect international humanitarian law. “These incidents must be investigated without delay and the perpetrators should be held accountable”, he said.
