09/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson will announce an additional €3 million in aid for Rohingya refugees during a visit to Bangladesh on 10-11 November, the Commission said in a statement on 9 November. The EU and Bangladesh “will launch a comprehensive dialogue on migration and mobility. This dialogue will include the possibility of increased cooperation in launching a partnership for talent and increased cooperation against migrant smuggling”. The Commissioner could also announce the withdrawal of the July 2021 proposal to tighten visa access for Bangladeshi citizens, due to the country’s efforts on readmission of its nationals. The Commissioner will then go to Pakistan, also to talk about legal migration, with another ‘partnership for talent’. (SP)
