26/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – Members of the European Parliament’s Transport Committee on Wednesday 26 October approved the report by Rovana Plumb (S&D, Romanian) on intelligent transport systems (ITS) (39 votes in favour, none against, eight abstentions) (see EUROPE 13030/13). In particular, the text aims to extend the scope of the new rules to emerging services, such as multimodal information, reservation and ticketing services or communication between cars and infrastructure, in order to provide more data to the applications concerned. MEPs also want more crucial traffic and road data to be made available in digital form and via an appropriate user interface. In addition, the text calls on Member States to cooperate better in the deployment of ITS services through, among other things, joint projects. (TM)
