26/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – In a document dated 24 October obtained by EUROPE, the ambassadors of the EU Member States, meeting within the Political and Security Committee (PSC), considered, that the United Kingdom - a third country and member of NATO - fulfilled the conditions to be invited to participate in the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) military mobility project. The PSC therefore calls on the Member States’ ambassadors “to recommend to the EU Council that it take a positive decision on whether the United Kingdom’s participation in this project complies with these general conditions”. “The United Kingdom’s participation in the military mobility project will contribute to strengthening the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and the Union’s level of ambition, including in support of CSDP missions and operations”, the ambassadors explained.
