16/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced, on Friday 16 September, its intention to “significantly” increase funding for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) with a planned budget of over €100 million to be included in the Horizon Europe Work Programme for the period 2023-2024. The day before, the European Parliament deplored the “lack of clarity” regarding the funding of the NEB from 2023 onwards and called for an amendment to the regulation establishing Horizon Europe during the mid-term review of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework to create a specific programme with €500 million. The New European Bauhaus aims to give style to the European Green Deal initiatives in areas such as architecture, furniture, fashion and on the basis of three inseparable values: sustainability, aesthetics and social inclusion (see EUROPE 12791/19).
