16/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 September the European Commission launched a consultation to improve passenger protection and rights in the field of travel. Specifically, the European Commission wants to review the regulatory framework to ensure resilience to major travel disruptions, including the development of multi-modal ticketing. In addition, the Commission wishes to explore suitable financial protection schemes to protect passengers against the risk of a liquidity crisis or insolvency regarding ticket refunds and repatriation.
