16/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – In the absence of a response from the European Commission at the time of going to press on Thursday 15 September, the article entitled “revision of ‘RED II’ directive, European Parliament sets own criteria for renewable hydrogen” (see EUROPE 13022/7) contains little information about the future of the delegated acts initially intended to cover renewable hydrogen production. The Commission finally informed EUROPE on Friday 16 September that it is “currently assessing the implications of the European Parliament’s vote”, “will take them into account in the ongoing work on the delegated acts” and “will continue to work with the co-legislators to provide regulatory certainty to the hydrogen sector as soon as possible”.
