26/08/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 26 August, the European Commission approved a modification of the French aid scheme for companies in the fisheries sector in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The amendment was approved under the Temporary Crisis Framework for State aid. The Commission approved the original scheme in May (see EUROPE 12956/4). The adjustments are: - an increase in the maximum amount of aid per beneficiary from €35,000 to €75,000; - a new eligibility period from 1 August to 30 September 2022; - €8 million budget increase. Eligible beneficiaries will be able to receive aid of €0.20 per litre of fuel for the period from 1 to 31 August 2022 and €0.10 per litre from 1 to 30 September 2022. (LC)
