01/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 30 June, the European Commission published a proposal for a EU Council recommendation to define concrete measures to combat early school leaving among 15 year olds, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. “Education and knowledge are the basis for our future development. It is essential to provide a sound education to all pupils in the Union, without exception”, said Vice-President for Promoting the European Way of Life, Margarítis Schinás. This proposal on ‘Pathways to School Success’ brings together a number of measures addressing the needs of students, teachers and trainers, schools and education systems. In addition to monitoring, prevention, intervention and compensation measures, the proposal also calls for increased attention to well-being at school. See the document: https://aeur.eu/f/2gn (TM)
