The EU Member States adopted on 24 May the regulation amending the mandate of the EU Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, Eurojust.
This revision will enable Eurojust to preserve, analyse, store and share evidence of war crimes with the competent authorities of the Member States and with international judicial authorities (see EUROPE 12938/9).
Last week the Parliament adopted its position under the urgency procedure (see EUROPE 12956/5). The EU Council was committed to approving the text as adopted by MEPs.
The regulation is expected to be published in the Official Journal of the EU in the coming weeks and to enter into force the day after its publication.
