18/05/22 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission approved on Tuesday 17 May, under EU State aid rules and in accordance with the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland annexed to the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, Northern Ireland’s map for granting regional aid, valid from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2027, under the revised Regional Aid Guidelines. The Northern Ireland regional aid map identifies the areas eligible for regional investment aid. The map also sets out the maximum aid intensities that can be granted to this eligible area. The aid intensity is the maximum amount of State aid that can be granted per beneficiary, expressed as a percentage of the eligible investment costs. (LC)
