MEPs back nomination of new Cypriot and Maltese members

03/05/22 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament gave favourable opinions on Tuesday 3 May on the Council of the European Union’s proposals to appoint Maltese George Marius Hyzler and Cypriot Lefteris Christoforou as members of the EU Court of Auditors. Mr Hyzler’s candidature was supported with 551 votes in favour, 33 against and 45 abstentions, and Mr Christoforou’s with 549 votes in favour, 11 against and 69 abstentions.
