22/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 22 April, the Court of Justice of the European Union announced that from next week it will offer online broadcasting on its website of hearings, pleadings, judgments and readings of pleadings, only for cases assigned to the Grand Chamber. The delivery of the judgments and the reading of the pleadings of the Advocates General will be broadcast live. The oral hearings will be broadcast on a deferred basis during a six-month pilot phase (on the same day from 2.30 pm for hearings in the morning or on the following day from 9.30 am for hearings continuing in the afternoon). However, they cannot be accessed at a later date. The simultaneous interpretation of the proceedings will be provided “in the languages necessary for the proper conduct of the hearing”, the Court said in its statement. (MB)
