31/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – A delegation of seven MEPs arrived in Serbia on Thursday 31 March and will remain there until 4 April to assess whether the presidential and early parliamentary elections on 3 April are being conducted in accordance with international commitments and the country’s domestic laws. The delegation is part of the International Election Observation Mission. “We will look into all aspects of the election, including the legal framework, the election administration, complaints and appeals, the political environment and the election campaign, the performance of the media, the situation of national minorities and the participation of women”, explained the head of the delegation, Thijs Reuten (S&D, Netherlands), in a statement. EPP members Vladimír Bilcik (Slovakia) and Sven Simon (Germany), Klemen Grošelj (Renew Europe, Slovenia), Jakop Dalunde (Greens/EFA, Sweden), Ivan David (ID, Czechia) and Cristian Terheş (ECR, Romania) are part of the delegation.
