02/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, stressed on Tuesday 1 March, after a meeting with the Georgian President, Salome Zourabichvili, that the European institutions wanted to “demonstrate (their) clear and concrete support for strengthening the ties between Georgia and the EU”. Michel and Zourabichvili identified important priorities to work on together, from the Ukrainian crisis to “making concrete progress to ensure that the strong ties between Georgia and the EU are highly visible and tangible” for the Georgians. For her part, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that the EU supports Georgia’s sovereignty and resilience, and is ready to intensify its cooperation, particularly in the areas of cyber security, strategic communication and hybrid threats.
