02/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell announced on Wednesday, 2 March, that he had called an extraordinary Foreign Affairs Council for Friday, 4 March, and that he had invited Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. “We stand in transatlantic unity against #Russia’s invasion and in solidarity with #Ukraine”, he declared on his Twitter account. The meeting is expected to take place in the afternoon—after that morning’s extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers from NATO countries. In addition, on Wednesday, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution deploring Russian aggression against Ukraine (141 votes in favour, 34 abstentions, and 5 against—Russia, Belarus, Eritrea, North Korea, and Syria).
