Number of migrants rescued off Calais tripled in 2021

10/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – AFP reported on 10 January that, according to the French Office of Immigration and Integration (Offi), the number of shipwrecked migrants rescued off the coast of Calais, northern France, tripled in 2021. The number of people shipwrecked off the coast of Calais and taken to safety was 1,002 in 2021, compared to 341 in 2020 - an increase of 194%. Those living in makeshift camps on the northern French coast and being sheltered numbered 31,103, up 239% on 2020...
