10/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 10 January, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the Media Freedom Act, a legislative proposal expected in the third quarter of 2022. Open until 21 March 2022, this consultation aims to gather the views of stakeholders on the main issues affecting the functioning of the media sector: - transparency of media ownership and independence in media management; - the conditions necessary for a healthy functioning of the sector; - a fair allocation of financial resources from public sources.
