16/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 16 December, the European Commission opened two consultations on the review of intelligent transport systems (ITS) and the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The consultation on these two dossiers will remain open until 10 February and the views collected will be presented to the EU Council and European Parliament to feed into the legislative debate. This process comes after the Commission presented the pillars of its strategy for green and efficient mobility (see EUROPE 12853/4) on Tuesday 14 December. Among other things, the action plan envisages the promotion of train travel, the simplification of long-distance and cross-border rail transport, the development of urban mobility strategies in the EU’s major cities and the completion of the TEN-T.
