At the first trilogue on the public procurement instrument on Thursday 16 December, co-legislators under the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU agreed to find a deal by next spring. The next trilogue will take place under the French Presidency of the EU Council in early 2022.
Two days earlier, MEPs adopted their position on the regulation in plenary (see EUROPE 12853/18).
This text has been in the institutions’ pipeline since 2012. In the meantime, the European Commission had proposed an amendment in 2016.
At this first trilogue meeting, the participants presented the important starting points for the next discussions and agreed on the timetable.
