16/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – The co-rapporteurs on the Social Climate Fund - David Casa (EPP, Malta, for the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs - EMPL) and Esther de Lange (EPP, Netherlands, for the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety - ENVI) - are expected to present a joint report on 14 January 2022. The deadline for the tabling of amendments is 17 February and the deadline for compromise amendments is 27 April. The vote in committee is scheduled for 16 or 17 May and the vote in plenary for the first sitting in June. However, the Committee on Budgets (BUDG) is asking for a general postponement of the timetable by one month. On the EU Council side, the incoming French Presidency of the Council of the European Union hopes for a political agreement between the Member States in March (see EUROPE 12852/19). (PH)
