Public consultation to formalise EU rules on recycled plastic in food packaging

On Monday 6 December, the European Commission launched a public consultation, open until 10 January 2022, on a draft implementing regulation to update the EU rules on recycled materials and plastics in food packaging.

This Commission Regulation is scheduled for adoption in the first quarter of 2022. It is intended to repeal Commission Regulation (EC) No. 282/2008 on recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, which did not apply to all recycling...
