29/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Coalition for Energy Savings and 12 other associations from the energy sector sent a joint letter to the European Commission on Thursday 28 October asking it to present an ambitious proposal for the revision of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) (2018/844). The stakeholders’ recommendations include: - establishing a binding target for EU Member States to achieve annual renovations of at least 3% per year; - ensuring that all new buildings are both highly energy efficient and based on renewable energy from 2025; - introducing mandatory minimum energy performance standards for all existing buildings, accompanied by support measures for low-income households and businesses. The proposal for the revision of the EPBD is scheduled for 14 December. See the letter: https://bit.ly/3GAnFRh (DG)
