European Commission consults on a draft regulation on evaluation and authorisation of biological pesticides

A public consultation, launched on Tuesday 26 October by the European Commission, is open until 23 November on a draft regulation stemming from the EU’s ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy.

This strategy ‘for a fair, healthy and environmentally friendly food system’ aims, among other things, to reduce reliance on chemical pesticides by allowing the sale of organic alternatives, such as pesticides containing micro-organisms.
