29/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – Seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 2.2% in the euro area and by 2.1% in the European Union in the third quarter, compared with the previous quarter, according to a preliminary flash estimate published by the EU’s statistical office Eurostat. It warns that the estimate will be subject to revision. In the second quarter, GDP increased by 2.1% in the euro area and by 2.0% in the EU. Among the eleven Member States for which data are available, Austria (+3.3%), France (+3.0%) and Portugal (+2.9%) recorded the highest increase compared with the second quarter. The GDP stagnated in Lithuania and the smallest increases were recorded in Latvia (+0.3%) and the Czech Republic. Growth was 1.8% in Germany, 2.0% in Spain and 2.6% in Italy. (MB)
