15/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 14 October, the European Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (CoP) postponed a decision on the breakdown between parliamentary committees of the initiatives planned as part of the ‘Fit for 55’ emissions reduction package by 2030. The postponement was due to a lack of time to deal with the issue, according to one source. According to another source, the EPP and Renew Europe are not in favour of the S&D’s alternative proposal (see EUROPE 12808/14), considering it unbalanced. The situation should become clearer once the new presidency of Renew Europe (see EUROPE 12810/22) is known on Tuesday 19 October, a third source tells us. (PH)
