European Parliament delegation notes serious shortcomings in terms of corruption and media pluralism in Bulgaria

On Friday 24 September, the ‘Democracy, Fundamental Rights and the Rule of Law’ monitoring group of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties expressed “great concern” about the state of the fight against corruption and the situation regarding freedom of the media in Bulgaria: this was the report made by the Chair of the monitoring group, Sophie in 't Veld (Renew Europe, Netherlands), from Bulgaria at the end of a two-day visit.
