07/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 6 July, it was confirmed that the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU plans to adopt three conclusions in the social sector during its term. Consequently, it expects conclusions on gender budgeting to be reached at the Employment and Social Policy Council (EPSCO) meeting in October. It also expects to adopt conclusions on quality of work and quality of life, along with conclusions on the impact of digitalisation and artificial intelligence on gender equality in the labour market at the EPSCO meeting in December. Although not as ambitious as Portugal, Slovenia has set itself the goal of reaching a political agreement within the EU Council (general approach) on the framework directive on minimum wages, along with a compromise with the European Parliament on the regulation on the coordination of social security systems (see EUROPE 12756/24).
