07/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – Six MEPs will travel to Moldova to observe the early parliamentary elections on 11 July, the European Parliament announced on 7 July. The delegation will assess whether the election is conducted in accordance with international commitments and the country’s national laws. On election day, MEPs will observe election procedures in several cities across the country, including the capital Chișinău. They will visit polling stations and witness the voting process, the opening of the ballot boxes, and the counting of votes, Parliament said in its statement. The delegation will be led by the chair of Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, David McAllister (EPP, Germany) and will be made up of Romanians Siegfried Mureşan (EPP) and Cristian Terheş (ECR), Andreas Schieder (S&D, Austria), Juozas Olekas (S&D, Lithuania) and Viola von Cramon-Taubadel (Greens/EFA, Germany).
