European Parliament confirms new Visa Information System rules

Brussels, 07/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 7 July, the European Parliament approved changes to the Visa Information System (VIS), including making it interoperable with other information systems, by 578 votes to 114 with 4 abstentions, and by 577 votes to 113 with 6 abstentions. Under the new rules, the VIS will not only include information on short-stay visas, but will also cover long-stay visas and residence permits, documents which allow for free movement within the Schengen...
