09/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – A new study published by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) on Wednesday 9 June precisely maps out the charging points to support the future growth of battery electric trucks. For example, based on an analysis of 30,000 truck stop locations and the activity of 400,000 trucks, the study shows that truck stops are mainly concentrated in densely populated areas of Central Europe, industrial areas and large cities. One third to one half of the stops are at rest areas near motorways. About a quarter to a third are located on company sites or logistics platforms, and only 1-5% in ports and ferry terminals.
