23/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – The President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, and the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Razumkov, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between their two institutions on Monday 22 March in Brussels. The aim of the document is to regulate a common framework for parliamentary support, including the Jean Monnet Dialogues and capacity building of the Verkhovna Rada, according to a statement of the Ukrainian Parliament. “This document will help us to further develop and implement the latest European democratic standards that the Verkhovna Rada is seeking”, Mr Razumkov explained in the statement. The meeting between the two Presidents also provided an opportunity to discuss new priorities for interparliamentary cooperation, Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the security situation in Donbass and Crimea, according to the Ukrainian side.
