17/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – The ambassadors of the Member States to the EU (Coreper) gave the official green light on Wednesday 17 February to the outcome of the negotiations between the Council of the EU and the European Parliament on the ‘Rights and Values’ programme and the ‘Justice’ programme for the 2021–2027 programme (see EUROPE 12030/12). They had already held a discussion on the same subject at the beginning of February (see EUROPE 12650/4). Partial agreements on the main outlines of the programmes had already been reached in March 2019 (see EUROPE 12207/9, 12209/6), while the budgetary aspects were settled in December 2020 (see EUROPE 12626/6). The ‘Rights and Values’ programme – renamed ‘Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values’ by the co-legislators – has a maximum financial envelope of €1.55 billion.
